Plight of a girl child in Nigeria

The girl child is a biological female offspring from birth to eighteen years, she is dependent on the people that she models her behavior through observation, repetition and imitation. In Nigeria girls are discriminated against access to educational opportunity, food and nutrition, they are married off at early ages which interferes with their educationOn 11th October this year, UN women joined other UN agencies, civil society and girls around the world to celebrate International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “Digital Generation, Our Generation”They are calling for equal access to the internet and digital devices for girls and targeted investment to facilitate opportunities for girls to simplify and meaningfully access, use, lead and design technology.
